Drum Sketches was commissioned by The Brecht Forum for its Neues Kabarett series with the support of The New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. It was commissioned as a live performance piece, of which visual artist Makoto Fujimura, the artist behind the album’s cover art, joined Ibarra on stage to paint live in reaction to the music.World Premiere Live concert recording on May 5, 2007 at The Brecht Forum.
