Notes
Five years in the making. A combination of memorable synthesizer leads and sequences with the experimental beat/rhythmic beauty of IDM/Electronica/Ambient/Berlin School styles and a unique twist on sound design using the latest techniques to manipulate sound.Explorations of sounds found or created, many unheard and many certainly unused in the context of composition.
The album was named after the immersive nature of Rayspark Industries deep mental involvement in sound. Each track title is derived either from a field recording, process or synthesis technique involved in the making of the piece.
Reviews:
Electronic Sound Magazine (Issue 32)
“Cheshire-based Paul Darlington arrives with a fourth set of smart synthesis under the Rayspark Industries banner. Five years in the making, ‘Immersion’ is a complete musical world with all manner of sounds, found and synthesised, drifting in and out of its stratosphere. Each track title is “derived either from a field recordind, process or technique involved in the making of the piece”. The low rumbles and sparking static of ‘Striplight’ don’t disappoint, neither does the tsk-tsk-blip-blip beats of ‘Static Sky’. NM
David Morley (R&S, Apollo, Ursa Major, Anodize, De:Tuned Records)
“Sounds great. I like the timbres. Not clichéd. I especially like the beginning sounds on the high end. Also it evolves nicely as an album. Will listen again...”
Brian Vassallo (BV music)
“I have to recognize that you have a taste to make the listener dream , a combination of cinematic passages as well to compliment the overall musical journey. Noticed also your ability to experiment with beats and not to leave them static, which I also admire . Finally, I hope that you will continue to make music the way you are doing by experimenting with sounds and therefore to create something new. I believe you have the vision and the passion to build more musical pictures, as I like to call it. Thanks Paul for your presence and for letting me know about your new Music”
Craig Anthony Perkins (Genshi Media Group)
“Man, this was seriously epic! I really love it! So much so, that you've now got me questioning everything I've been doing...”
