This release is a "battle" between the Buddy Rich Quintet (Rich, Dennis, Woods, Bunch, Leshin) and the Max Roach Quintet (Roach, T. Turrentine, S. Turrentine, Priester, Boswell), with the main focus on the drummers. The Buddy Rich Quintet plays in the left channel, and the Max Roach Quintet plays in the right channel.
