Network television needed a healthy dose of youthful sex appeal and swagger in the late '60s.
Enter Welshman Tom Jones, a man who oozed charisma thanks to his powerhouse voice and electrifying moves. At the age of 28, he hosted his own weekly musical variety show, This Is Tom Jones-a hip, high-energy hour of entertainment that ran on ABC from 1969 to 1971. Taped in both Hollywood and London, the stylish, big production attracted the hottest international artists and stars of the day. This three-DVD set contains highlights selected from the hit series, and is the first installment of many This Is Tom Jones volumes to come. Tom had already won a coveted Grammy Award and sold millions of records. A rock 'n' roller at heart, he possessed the chops and versatility to sing with anyone from Aretha Franklin to The Who.
