Bella Donna , the first of Stevie Nicks' solo efforts and a two million-seller, features an outstanding group of musicians in support of the singer. Tom Petty duets with Stevie on his composition "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," a hit single which also features many of Petty's Heartbreakers. Other guest performers include pianist You Bittan (from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band), guitarists Waddy Wachtel, Davey Johnstone (of Elton John's Band), and Don Felder (late of the Eagles) and drummer Russ Kunkel. Heartbreaker Benmont Tench serves as musical director.
Nicks' start with Fleetwood Mac, which she joined in 1975, has included the albums Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk, Fleetwood Mac Live and Mirage. Among her individual contributions to the group are "Rhiannon," "Dreams" (Fleetwood Mac's first-ever number one single in America), "Sara" and "Gypsy."
Aside from "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," her hits from Bella Donna were "Leather and Lace" (a duet with ex-Eagle Don Henley), "Edge Of Seventeen" (a Grammy nominee in the Best Female Rock Vocal Category) and "After The Glitter Fades." Most recently, Ms. Nicks has released the album The Wild Heart.
