Notes
Welcome to the Dance Years 1994. 1994 was a fairly hectic year for me hosting the breakfast show on London Kiss 100 FM alongside house DJ Sarah HB.Inevitably, we would be out at some random event midweek and somehow make it into the studio at 6am to host the show. One of the best things was being allowed to bring in some of our favourite tracks from home and play them on the show (pretty much unheard of in today's over regulated and formatted radio) so London would wake up to some soulful Masters at Work or some banging Tony de Vit depending on what kind of night we'd had and if we'd been home to sleep.
Musically, there are some great records from this year, uplifting house from Barbara Tucker and the pumping Loveland 'Let the Music (Lift You Up)' and the euro house sound championed at the time by DJ legend Danny Rampling with tracks like Motiv 8 'Rockin' for Myself' and JX 'Son of a Gun'.
If you enjoyed this selection then look out for the first editions of the Dance Years from 1988-1993 charting the journey of dance music year by year.
Hope you enjoy 94
Dave
